Tammy served as Purchasing Agent for the City of San Diego, the 9th largest city in the nation and as Emergency Logistics Chief during the 2007 Witch Creek Fires that raged for 17 days and destroyed over 2000 homes. Under her leadership, the City consolidated its warehouse operations, centralized all purchasing and contracting operations, and moved to a more customer focused approach. Now, as the Executive Director of the National Cooperative Procurement Partners (NCPP), she is helping to grow this new Association to serve as THE source for educational content, legislative advocacy and support for cooperative procurement. Besides her government background, she has past sales and marking experience in the airline, retail, electrical utility and even the wine industry! Tammy has the unique perspective of working in three different worlds – corporate, government and entrepreneurial.
Take Your Cooperative Strategy to the Next Level
Let's say you already know about cooperative purchasing...but do you know how to create a strategic plan to drive real savings - in time and money? Discover innovative procurement tactics from other agencies, unveil approaches when emergencies arise, and plan the set of questions and analysis needed to conform with your own policies and how to educate your own internal teams (i.e. attorney’s, City Council) on the benefits of moving to a cooperative contract. This interactive, entertaining session also includes real examples and scenarios to help practice that decision process. Make Your Purchasing Team be MVP for your organization!
