Sudden cardiac arrest can strike anyone, anywhere, without warning. For Alyssa, a Michigan high school student, it happened during track practice. Thanks to quick action from her coaches, CPR training, and an onsite automated external defibrillator (AED), Alyssa's life was saved before EMS arrived.
AEDs analyze heart rhythms and deliver shock to restore normal heartbeat, making them critical in emergencies. In this case, the AED provided by Cintas through their OMNIA Partners cooperative purchasing contract, played a vital role. Cintas equips schools and businesses with lifesaving tools and skills that truly make a difference.
