Principal Leadership + Committed Professionals

Firm principals Robin Shambach, Frank Slingerland, Sue Gray, and Chris Pinkerton have crafted an agile firm dedicated to design and practice at the highest levels. They carefully select projects so that they can stay fully engaged in key roles from start to finish.  We are supported by highly-trained staff, state-of-the-art equipment, and personal commitment. Staff interaction and role flexibility allow us to work together to serve our clients, and the communities they serve.

Together we have earned a reputation for quality design resulting from a very collaborative approach and possess a proven record of meeting budgets and schedules. We are known for producing complete construction documents that yield quality buildings and smooth construction processes.

Technology Resources + Sustainability

BWS Architects actively uses the most current technologies throughout our work. BIM technology enables us to create a complete three-dimensional simulation of your project as the foundation of the design process. It allows us to show you the design direction and options. In addition, our team uses visualization software such as Sketchup, Enscape, Lumion, and Adobe products such as Photoshop and Illustrator, to study design options and communicate design ideas early. We also use Microsoft Project for scheduling and BlueBeam Revu for punch list development, consultant coordination, field verification, and PDF mark-ups during the client team review and QC meetings.

Since LEED Certification was introduced, BWS Architects has been at the forefront of sustainable design.  Our Desert Vista Campus Plaza Building Expansion project was the pilot project for the U.S. Green Building Council in Arizona. Since then, we have designed 12 LEED Certified projects. But we know that most projects do not aspire for LEED certification; however, we still look for sustainable opportunities in all our projects.
