Hoerr Construction, Inc specializes in the trenchless rehabilitation of pipelines and structures of all types including municipal wastewater, stormwater, and potable water.  Our holistic approach to rehabilitation services has given our customers the ability to address multiple issues within a system with a single call.

For over 30 years Hoerr has been providing unmatched quality and service to municipalities, DOTs, and private system owners within the Midwest while building long term relationships with engineers and customers alike.

Certified CCTV Inspections

Closed Circuit Television Video (CCTV) sewer inspection is the process of using a camera to inspect the interior of pipes from sizes 4” and up. NASSCO PACP Certified technicians record observations made into a database for post inspection condition grading.

Sewer Cleaning

Maintaining a collection system begins with cleaning. Settlement, debris, and deleterious materials clog sanitary and storm pipes creating blockages and flow stoppages that ultimately result in sewer overflows (SSOs). A progressive Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program should include annual sewer cleaning to assure that the systems hydraulic capacity is regulated at its full design.

Combination Cleaning

Fitted with a high-capacity vacuum and large debris tank, sewer combinations truck can clean pipes and remove materials that can block a sewer line. These multi-purpose vehicles allow for many situations where debris can accumulate including Catch Basins, Manholes, Wet Wells, and Lift Stations. By adding an extension hose, reaches up to 100 feet from the vehicle can be achieved.

Root and Mineral Deposit Removal

Root intrusion in sewer lines occur when trees seek the natural nutrients in a pipeline. Entering through open joints and holes in pipes, they continue to grow creating blockages and slowing down the natural flows. Mineral deposits on the interior of sewer lines are created by groundwater entering joints and holes and leaving behind the calcium and magnesium contained in these hard waters. Over time the hard deposits build up lowering sewer capacities. By using specialized nozzles in combination with sewer jetting equipment, these naturally occurring problems can be removed.

Cured-In-Place Pipelining (CIPP) Mainline Pipe

CIPP offers a proven trenchless repair of aging sanitary and storm sewer pipes. Roots, infiltration, and all but the worst broken pipes can be repaired in place without a disruptive digging operation. CIPP offers a minimum 50-year lifespan replacement at a fraction of the price of new pipe while also leading to increased pipe capacity due to reduced friction loss. Our proven history has been built using materials sourced from industry leaders that, like Hoerr Construction, have been on the forefront of using and refining this technology. All work is performed to ASTM F-1216 and NASSCO standards.

Cured-In-Place Pipelining (CIPP) Lateral Renewal Systems

Steam Cured CIPP offers a proven trenchless repair of aging laterals with a minimum 50-year lifespan at a fraction of the cost of dig and replace. A resin impregnated, “T” shaped flexible tube is inverted, inflated, and then cured in place using heat. The CIPP liner conforms to the walls of the host pipe resulting in a smooth, seamless new pipe for lengths up to 120’ from the mainline and 360-degrees of the mainline.

Manhole Rehabilitation

Manholes, Catch Basins, and Inlets are exposed to overhead traffic, freeze/frost cycles, road salts and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) attack. Replacement is expensive, disruptive, and time consuming. These weakened structures can be trenchlessly renewed by employing various methods to apply various products to the surface, stopping infiltration, and increasing the life cycle of a collection system. We use Micro-Silicate Mortars (MSM) that are Portland-based concretes embedded with micro-fiberglass rods that combine to provide high compression strengths and Calcium Aluminate Mortars (CAM) are infused with aluminum particles to provide additional protection against H2S in Structures.  For extra protection, Epoxies are specially designed and proven to provide chemical resistance to a variety of chemicals while bonding with excellent adhesion to concretes, metals, and fiberglass materials.

Internal Point Repairs

The Sectional or point repair is a cured-in-place Short Liner repair for wastewater and storm sewer pipes. Its simplistic installation allows for a quick repair in mainlines from 6” to 24” in diameter with a short curing time. The Short Liner is perfect for segments that are overall in good shape and need just a single or multiple repairs but not a full manhole to manhole liner. A fiberglass-reinforced mat is impregnated with a resin, wrapped around an inflatable bladder, and then pulled into place. After centering the unit over the damaged section, the bladder is inflated. Once cured, the result is a trenchless repair solution that is mechanically locked in place.

Geopolymer Storm Pipe and Culvert Lining

Corrugated metal and concrete pipes are used to allow water sources to flow from one side of a road to another. They are also used as piping systems that convey freshwater between collection ponds and natural resources to outlets and pumping stations. Located under roads and expressways, rear easements, and within parkways, these aging structures create large disruptions in the form of cave-ins, blockages, and sinkholes as they begin to collapse decay and collapse. Spray-In-Place Pipelining (SIPP) Options offers a trenchless repair solution that is optimal for larger diameter and odd shaped culverts. Using geopolymers, the renewal process is performed via spin cast or hand-sprayed application methods.
