President and CEO
Todd Abner is the president and CEO for OMNIA Partners, the largest and most experienced organization in group purchasing. OMNIA Partners is comprised of three subsidiaries: National IPA, Prime Advantage and Corporate United, serving the government, manufacturing and corporate markets, respectively.
Prior to OMNIA Partners, Mr. Abner co-founded and served as president and CEO for Horizon Resource Group, a national GPO dedicated to higher education institutions. The unprecedented success of Horizon Resource Group allowed the organization to expand into the public sector marketplace.
Mr. Abner also co-founded and served as vice president of business development for empactHealth.com, a leading provider of business-to-business e-procurement solutions for the healthcare industry founded by Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). At empactHealth.com, Mr. Abner engaged some of the world’s leading suppliers to participate in the ecommerce model, including Johnson & Johnson, Abbott Laboratories, General Electric, Baxter Scientific and others.
Mr. Abner held several management positions with HCA prior to founding empactHealth.com: He was co-founder and chief financial officer for HealthTrust Purchasing Group, L.P., a GPO representing more than 3,000 hospitals with a collective purchasing volume of more than $20 billion. In his role as CFO of HealthTrust, he and his team of financial and database analysts were involved in all contract solicitations and negotiations with the nation’s leading healthcare, technology, commodity and other suppliers. HealthTrust remains one of the leading healthcare GPOs in the nation, and Mr. Abner’s reputation within the supplier community is notable because he created and managed that organization.
Mr. Abner started his career at Ernst & Young LLP, where he became a senior financial and EDI auditor prior to leaving to work for his largest client, HCA.
Mr. Abner served as the inaugural chairman of the board for the National Cooperative Procurement Partners (NCPP), an organization committed to promoting the highest level of business ethics, best practices and standards to serve the procurement needs of government, education and nonprofit agencies across the country.
Mr. Abner also serves as board president for Gabe’s My Heart “Chemo Duck.” Chemo Duck, a nonprofit organization, collaborates with child life specialists and medical professionals to provide education and support to children and families going through cancer treatment.
