Chief Operating Officer
Ward Brown is the chief operating officer for OMNIA Partners, the largest and most experienced organization in group purchasing. OMNIA Partners is comprised of three subsidiaries: National IPA, Prime Advantage and Corporate United, serving the government, manufacturing and corporate markets respectively.
Prior to OMNIA Partners, Mr. Brown co-founded and served as the chief operating officer for Horizon Resource Group, a national GPO dedicated to higher education institutions.
Previously, Mr. Brown was co-founder and vice president of operations for empactHealth.com. Mr. Brown’s role leading the company’s operations was instrumental in its success and growth. His knowledge of healthcare operations, but more importantly supply chain operations, was instrumental in the creation and development of empactHealth.com.
Mr. Brown’s experience also includes several management positions within Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). His most recent role with HCA was as assistant vice president. In this role, he was responsible for HCA’s supply chain operations and led the transformation of the company's supply chain management. His supply chain operations responsibilities included purchasing, receiving, inventory management, transportation management, accounts payable and other processes.
Specifically, Mr. Brown’s experience in supply chain management at HCA included the automation of inventory control at hundreds of nursing stations within the hospitals (for better visibility of system-wide product levels); the establishment of distribution centers supported by warehouse management systems and related processes; the creation of a complete transportation management system for truckload (TL), less-than-truckload (LTL) and express deliveries and the realignment of hundreds of employees to support the company’s supply chain operations.
At HCA, Mr. Brown was also responsible for overseeing system-wide distribution agreements valued at over $300 million annually and managing the contract strategy, solicitation, execution and conversion of over 300 hospitals nationwide.
Mr. Brown is a CPA and began his career with Ernst & Young LLP.
Mr. Brown currently serves as vice-chairman of the board for the National Cooperative Procurement Partners (NCPP), an organization committed to promoting the highest level of business ethics, best practices and standards to serve the procurement needs of government, education and nonprofit agencies across the country.
